Nintendo has been hinting about it for a while. However, their Bayonetta 3 trailer revealed that the game is indeed a multiverse-spanning epic with multiple Bayonettas from all over the world. We also get a sneak peek at gameplay and a surprising side mission for fan-favorite Jeanne. You can check out the trailer for yourself below, although honestly, it’s a bit spoilery, so proceed with caution if you want to go in completely fresh.
Nintendo definitely didn’t hold back on that one! Bayonetta 3: Need to know more? Here are all the key points you need to know, and my hands-on preview of the game’s updated kaiju-infused combat system. If you’ve only got a minute to spare, here’s a quick official description…
“Bayonetta dances through multiple locations in an over-the-top, climax action video game. The Umbra Witch, in a wicked new outfit and with familiar pigtails will face a mysterious evil with her signature guns and Witch Time ability. This time, invading manmade bioweapons called Homunculi find themselves in Bayonetta’s crosshairs.”
- Get ready to have a devilishly good experience – Tap into Bayonetta’s naughtier side with Demon Masquerade, a new ability that channels the demon linked to her weapon allowing for some exciting action options, not to mention some hair-raising combos. She can summon her demonic darlings Malphas and Gomorrah during battle to unleash their demonic powers in the heat and in larger-than life battles where you direct the action.
- Bayonettas are a bounty – Fight your own way through Tokyo’s streets, the mountains of China, or any other location! Along the way you’ll meet a virtual coven of Bayonettas, each more fabulous than the last. You’ll also slash and slay as Viola, a feisty witch in training who fights with a sword and a capricious companion, the demon Cheshire. Bayonetta awaits a fateful end, and this arcane alliance might be able to save the world!
Bayonetta 3 is available for Nintendo Switch on October 28.
