Final Fantasy XVI will be the next installment in the series from Square Enix, and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 starting June 22nd, 2023. According to the producer, the game will showcase the power of the console made by Sony.
Speaking during the latest Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer livestream A few days back, Genki translated Naoki Yoshida’s brief talk about the next installment in the series. He said that it will showcase the power and capabilities of the PlayStation 5 console. He also confirmed that Revenge’s latest trailer is available in real-time.

Square Enix shared some new Final Fantasy XVI art today on their official Twitter account. This confirms that the company will soon have more information regarding the game in preparation for its release this June.

Final Fantasy XVI will launch on PlayStation 5 worldwide on June 22nd 2023. It is not known if there will be any other versions of the game, but it is known that it will be an exclusive PS5 release for six months. This will allow it to eventually launch on other platforms, though it may not launch on Xbox due to Sony’s exclusivity agreements.
Outright ownership is not the only benefit. Sony has also made arrangements with third-party publishers to provide exclusive content which require the “exclusion” of Xbox from the set of platforms these publishers can Distribute their games.
