God of War’s PC Developer Jetpack Interactive Is Working With Sony on Flagship AAA Live Service

Jetpack Interactive, the Vancouver-based studio that developed 2018’s God of War for PC, is currently seeking new programmers to join their team on a forthcoming Sony live-service game.

The job advertisement has been posted to the studio’s website. LinkedIn page As reported on the ResetERA forumsThis video explains how this AAA production will be based on one the publisher’s most coveted properties. Unfortunately, the ab does not provide any further information about this game. We don’t know which Sony property will be making its return as a live-service game.

Jetpack was most recently working with Sony Interactive (Santa Monica Studio), in God Of War projects. This included the porting of GOW 2018 to PC/Steam. The port was released in January 2022. The port was commercially successful, and the game was praised by critics and Sony Santa Monica.

We are currently working with Sony to develop one its flagship IPs for its highly anticipated live games portfolio. If you’re revved up about being part of a small and skilled SWAT team making some of the finest AAA games out there – we’re pretty sure you’ll like working at Jetpack.

Jetpack Interactive’s game will be the first of many live service games that Sony will release by March 2026. According to Hermen Hulst, Head at PlayStation Studios, the Japanese company will continue to make single-player games despite plans to release so many live services titles.

We will continue to make single-player narrative-based games like Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West. You’ve correctly spotted that we have made investments in live service games. This is because it’s so exciting for us.

We have quite a few in development or conceptualisation now, so yes, we are setting up internal capabilities. It is precisely for this reason that it is so exciting to welcome to our family a group who has a lot experience with live service games. To be able to have the central capabilities that are being set up, we need people who have been doing it for a while… The notion that demanding customers create great abilities is often true in game development.
