Yakuza: Like a Dragon 2 could come out as early as September.

In less than a month, SEGA will host a small event. Now it might be time officially announce Yakuza, Like a Dragon 2.

SEGA will host a small online event on September 8 where Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (the team behind Yakuza 0) will share new information. It will be a “Sneak Peek Trailer Brought To You by the Director” video. Although it doesn’t confirm anything we can assume that it will be about Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s new game Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

SEGA has confirmed that Like a Dragon will have a sequel, so this possibility is very real. Masayoshi Yamaki, who is now the studio’s director, confirmed that a sequel with the codename “Ryu Ga Gotoku 8”, was being developed in October 2021, but didn’t give any details. It has been confirmed that MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura will participate in the sequel. It will take places in a new place that has never been featured in a Yakuza Yakuza video.

Yakuza: Like the Dragon

Masayoshi Yokohama is the host of SEGA’s September 8, event. Because he has previously worked on the series, gamers are more confident Yakuza: Like a Dragon 2 would be the game announced. Ryu Ga Gotoku currently works on two different games and not just one so it is possible that they will reveal a secret Yakuza game.

All the information is speculation and guesswork at this point. Only the date of September 8, 2020 has been confirmed. Let’s wait to see if Yakuza fans get what they want.
